Why travellers are switching from WiFi Dosirak to eSIM
- 📦 No box, no battery: nothing to carry, nothing to return.
- ⏱️ No queue: set up at home before the flight, online the moment your plane lands.
- 💰 Cheaper for solo/couple trips: from $12 for 10 days vs ~₩50,000+ for Pocket WiFi rental.
- 🌏 Travelling beyond Korea? Asia 33 plan covers 33 countries on one eSIM.
Pocket WiFi (와이파이 도시락) is great for family groups sharing one connection. For 1–2 travellers, eSIM is usually cheaper, faster to set up, and skips the airport booth queue entirely.

Why Travellers Choose eSIM for Korea
Activate Before You Land
Set up at home, scan the QR before boarding. The moment your plane touches down at Incheon, you are online — no waiting in airport queues.
No ARC Required
Korean monthly plans need an Alien Registration Card. eSIM works on passport only — perfect for short trips, exchange students, and business travellers.
Covers 15 – 33 Countries
Travelling around Asia? One eSIM works in Korea + Japan + Vietnam + Thailand + more. No need to buy a new SIM at every border.
How It Works — 3 Simple Steps
Choose Your Plan
5 plans from $12 — pick by duration (10 / 30 days), data (6 – 20GB), and country coverage. See the plan comparison above.
Pay Online
Pay by international card (Visa / Mastercard / Amex). Receive your eSIM QR code by email — usually within minutes.
Scan QR & Activate
In your phone settings (Cellular → Add Data Plan), scan the QR. The eSIM installs in about 30 seconds. Toggle it on when you land — your home SIM stays in slot 1.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my phone support eSIM?
Yes if you have iPhone XS / XR (2018+) or Samsung Galaxy S20+ (2020+) or any recent Pixel. Most flagship Androids from 2020 onward support eSIM. Check Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM (iPhone) or Settings → Connections → SIM Manager (Galaxy).
Will my home phone number still work?
Yes. Your home SIM stays in slot 1 — your usual number receives calls and SMS as normal. The Korea eSIM goes in slot 2 (data). You can toggle each line on or off independently in settings.
What happens when my data runs out?
After your data limit, speed throttles to 128 kbps — enough for KakaoTalk, maps, basic web. You can buy a top-up or new plan online; no need to return to the airport.
Can I get a Korean phone number with eSIM?
eSIM plans are typically data-only. If you need a local Korean number (010-XXXX), you need a physical Tourist SIM (passport only, at the airport) or a monthly plan (requires ARC). Most travellers use eSIM + KakaoTalk / WhatsApp for messaging — Koreans use KakaoTalk for almost everything.
Is the eSIM refundable if I do not use it?
Once you scan the QR code and activate the eSIM on your phone, it cannot be refunded — the carrier has assigned the IMSI to your device. If you have not scanned the QR yet, contact support within 7 days for a refund.
eSIM vs Pocket WiFi (와이파이 도시락) — which is better?
For 1–2 travellers, eSIM is usually cheaper, faster to set up, and avoids the airport queue. For families of 4+ sharing one connection, Pocket WiFi can be cost-effective per person — but you carry an extra device, battery, and must return it at the airport. See the comparison above.
