💡 Important: You MUST apply for your ARC within 90 days of arrival in Korea. Cost: 30,000 won.
🆔 What is ARC?
The Alien Registration Card (외국인등록증) is your official ID in Korea. You'll need it for:
- Opening a bank account
- Getting a mobile phone plan
- Signing rental contracts
- Registering for National Health Insurance
📋 Required Documents
- Passport
- Visa
- Passport-sized photo (3.5cm x 4.5cm)
- Application form (available at immigration office)
- 30,000 won fee
- Additional documents depending on visa type (employment contract, enrollment certificate, etc.)
🏢 Where to Apply
Visit your local Immigration Office (출입국관리사무소). Find the nearest office at hikorea.go.kr
⏱️ Processing Time
- Application: 30-60 minutes
- Pickup: 1-2 weeks later
- You'll receive a receipt to use temporarily

- Go early (before 9:30 AM)
- Bring a book (long wait times)
- Make copies of all documents
- Check office hours beforehand
